Do you ever feel disconnected from your child or unsure of how to help?
Many parents and families seek out therapy when they’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck in the same conflicts, or not sure of how to support their child when they’re having big emotions, and feeling disconnected from one another. You might feel like you’re constantly walking on eggshells, having the same arguments over and over, you’re unsure how to best support your kids, or trying your best as a parent while still feeling like you’re falling short. When things feel tense or out of control at home, it can be hard to know where to start.
In my work, I support children, parents, and families in slowing things down and making sense of what’s happening underneath emotional reactions and behavior. I believe real change happens when people feel seen, understood, and emotionally safe. Rather than viewing challenges as something “wrong” with a child or family, I see them as patterns that developed for a reason, often as ways of coping or protecting.
I enjoy working with children and adolescents, as well as parents who want to feel more confident and connected in their role. Many of the families I support are navigating emotional outbursts, anxiety, ADHD, or ongoing conflict at home. Parents often share that they want fewer power struggles, calmer communication, and a better understanding of their child — and themselves to improve and enjoy their relationships. Therapy can be a space to begin creating more supportive ways of relating to one another.
In our work together, we’ll begin to explore what’s beneath the behaviorMy approach to therapy is warm and collaborative. I don’t see myself as the expert on your life. My role is to walk alongside you as we notice patterns, explore emotions, and try out new ways of responding that feel more supportive and sustainable.
When working with children, I use play and creative activities to help them express feelings they don’t yet have words for and to build a sense of safety. I also work closely with parents, supporting them in staying connected during hard moments, responding to emotions rather than reacting to behavior, and feeling more confident in how they show up at home. When appropriate, caregivers are involved directly so the work we do in sessions can carry into everyday life.
I care deeply about not pathologizing children, parents, or families. Many reactions make sense when you understand what’s underneath them. Therapy isn’t about fixing anyone, it’s about understanding, connection, and creating space for change to happen gently and at a pace that feels right. Clients often describe therapy with me as grounding and supportive, a place where they feel understood, less alone, and more capable of navigating challenges as they arise.
If you’re wondering whether therapy might be helpful for your child or family, we can start with a conversation. You don’t have to have everything figured out, we can take the next step together and see what feels like the right fit.
